Hey everybody! Spring training is here and following that is regular season baseball. There is a lot to be said for baseball. Although America’s greatest pastime isn’t what it once was, I am a fan who has old school admiration for the game. I have been watching baseball ever since I can remember, enjoying the game and what it represents. There is nothing like walking into a stadium and seeing a freshly manicured diamond with players scattered and throwing the ball around. You get a sense of simplicity and greatness when you smell the grass and hear the player chatter on the field. Here in the AZ they have Chase Field (formally Bank One Ballpark or The BOB) and this venue is anything but old school. Read the rest of this entry »

Daytona 500

Ok, I am going to tell all of you that I was not a NASCAR fan; however I do have the need for speed. Anything fast: motorcycles; cars; boats; roller coasters, you name it. I am a speed junkie!!! Before I attended my first NASCAR race I really wasn’t all that impressed, but I am here to let you know that I am now hooked, not only on the speed but the danger of this sport. Location, Location, Location!!!

Ahhhhh, Augusta Georgia… Sweet Tea, Humidity and Golf! Not just golf but Masters Golf at the Augusta National Golf Club. The Augusta National Golf Club is located on the corner of Washington and Berckmans Roads and this year the tournament starts on April 6 th and goes through to the 12 th. The Masters is one of professional golf’s top events at one of the most lushly landscaped courses in golf. This is for all of you football fans out there planning a warm, sunny vacation to Miami for the bowl games. Nothing can compete with beautiful, Miami weather, beaches and of course FOOTBALL! This year’s BCS National Championship game is being played at Dolphin Stadium following the annual FedEx Orange Bowl. The BCS Championship returns to one of the hottest cities in the country.
