Since 2002 the University of Missouri Tigers and Illinois Fighting Illini football teams have met at the Edward Jones Dome in St. Louis, Missouri in what has been referred to as the Arch Rivalry. In that span the Tigers have appeared in five bowl games, won two Big XII North titles, and was ranked the number one team in the nation in 2007 and the Fighting Illini have appeared in two BCS bowl games. Entering into the 2009 contest the Tigers have one the previous four meetings against the Fighting Illini and have 16-7 over the Illini overall. 2010 will be the last Arch Rivalry for the foreseeable future.
