GO DEVILS! If you like college football, you HAVE to like the end of the regular season and the abundance of great rivalry games. Here are the Big Dog’s picks for seven great games this week!

Arizona State Sun Devils vs Arizona Wildcats. The Territorial Cup, or The Duel in the Desert, has origins dating back to 1899. Of course I am a little biased here, but this is one of the best and most heated rivalries in NCAA football. U of A has the edge this year, but ASU will be looking to knock the Wildcats out of an upper echelon bowl game. Go Devils.

Auburn Tigers vs Alabama Crimson Tide. The Iron Bowl dates all the way back to 1893. This is college football at its best, one of the best rivalries in all sports, not just college football. A huge game this year, since Alabama is #2 in the latest BCS poll. A loss could knock them out of BCS Championship Game contention.

Florida Gators vs Florida State Seminoles. The Battle for the Governor’s Cup, also known as the Sunshine Showdown, began in 1958. The Gators hold a considerable advantage in this series, and going into this game Florida is undefeated, ranked #1 in the country, and the defending national champions. However, FSU should be pumped up for this game, even more so with all the talk that this may be Coach Bobby Bowden’s swan song.

Texas Longhorns vs Texas A&M Aggies. Part of the Lone Star Showdown Series, which encompasses all varsity sports that both schools field teams in, Texas has dominated this rivalry in recent years. However, with a chance to spoil the Longhorns’ shot at a national title, the Aggies should be primed to pull off the upset. This is a great way to spend part of your Thanksgiving Day!

Clemson Tigers vs South Carolina Gamecocks. The Battle of Palmetto State has been taking place since 1896, with the Tigers dominating the series. The Brawl of 2004 is an indicator of just how intense this rivalry is, as both schools are separated by a mere 129 miles.

Washington Huskies vs Washington State Cougars. Neith Udubb nor Wazzou have had the most stellar of seasons, but the Apple Cup remains a fierce rivalry. This is a great Pac 10 match-up featuring the two biggest universities in Washington.

Notre Dame Fighting Irish and the Stanford Cardinal. The Legends Trophy is awarded to the winner of this game. This is a minor rivalry, especially compared to others the Irish have, but the game has been an annual affair except for one year since 1988.
