New York Yankees 2009 World Series Champions Hideki Matsui, MVP World Series Parade

Yankees fans around the globe are celebrating today and it’s no surprise! Last night the New York Yankees beat the Philadelphia Phillies in game 6 of the World Series. The final score was 7-3, with the Yankees securing the win. The final game of the World Series was located at the brand new Yankee Stadium in the Bronx.

This is the 27th World Series win for the Yankees! New York was predicted to win from the start; however the Phillies put up a fight and didn’t make it easy for the Yankees. The Phillies were the defending World Series Champions showed the Yankees they are a force to be reckoned with!

The Philadelphia Phillies played strong through the series, especially on the pitchers mound. Cliff Lee, Cole Hamels and Pedro Martinez all performed at there peaks, but it just wasn’t enough to cinch the win.

Jeter, Pettitte, Rivera and Posada will all add a 5th championship ring to their fingers. MVP of this World Series goes to Hideki Matsui. Hideki hit 7 runs in game #6 of the World Series and really stepped up to the plate in more ways than one. Matsui is the first ever baseball player born in Japan to be givin the prized MVP award. He is known for being very charismatic and unique. Matsui is one of the most dedicated and talented hitters in the leauge this season.

Manhattan, New York locals can expect a gigantic parade on November 6th. The New York Yankees will be celebrating on the big win! Everyone can join in on the fun and party with the New York Yankees! The parade is scheduled to being at 11:00 am and will take place in the financial district. The parade will feature New York Yankees players, staff and enough Ticker-Tape to blanket the entire area!

The World Series Championship parade will come to a conclusion with a ceremony at City Hall Plaza the mayor of New York, will present the Yankees with a key to the city! Sounds like an amazing experience, with hundreds of die-hard New York Yankee fans in attendance.
