BCS Standings, the Best of the Best

The days are counting down to this season’s big BCS Championship game. The 2010 BSC Championship will be held at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California on January 7th. The BCS standings for this week were just released and I am going to give you some information on the top 5 teams of the week. All of the top 5 team are currently undefeated! There were no changes from the previous week’s standings, so these teams are defiantly holding strong!

Florida Gators Are one of the most popular teams in college football today. They have built a foundation of amazing players and have an unbelievable amount of support from fans. The University of Florida has been playing football since 1906 and the team currently plays at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium (also lovingly known as “The Swamp”).

The Florida Gators have 8 conference titles, 3 national titles and 3 Heisman champs for bragging rights. They are one of the most entertaining teams to watch play. Even though the team has suffered a few injuries this year, they are still rocking the polls will an 11-0 record! Keep it up Gators!

Alabama Crimson Tide The University of Alabama, located in Tuscaloosa Alabama has a passion for football. The college football program has grown immensely since its modest beginning in 1892. Alabama has secured over 10 national titles and a whooping 25 titles, impressive! None of the Crimson Tide players have won the Heisman trophy, so they are definitely hungry this year.

The University of Alabama always has a strong coaching staff. Head coach Nick Saban was even the head coach of the Miami Dolphins. It’s safe to say this team is in good hands with one of the most respected coaches in the world of football.

Texas Longhorns The Longhorns college athletic program is one of the most feared and intimidating in the league. Texans love their football and full support the Texas Longhorns. College football is a beloved tradition at the University of Texas and home games are an experience of a lifetime.

The Longhorns have been a dominant team for years and currently sit in the #2 spot for most wins ever. It’s been a few years since they have secured a championship and this year is looking good for the Longhorns.

TCU Horned Frogs Texas Christian University football dominates the Mountain West NCAA division. They have a long standing history of powerful players, who often went on to bigger careers. This season the Horned Frogs have an impressive record and just like the previous teams, they are undefeated!

The end of the regular season is coming up quickly and TCU is in a great position. It will be very interesting to see how the horned frogs fare against the larger schools.

Cincinnati Bearcats The dedicated coaching stat at the University of Cincinnati has helped to shape some amazing NCAA and NFL players. The Bearcats take football seriously and this dedication has given them an amazing regular season. The Cincinnati Bearcats are currently undefeated and look to be a big threat from the Big East for the rest of the year.
