The first time I saw Def Leppard and Poison I was sixteen years old and I saw them in Iowa. This was twenty-four years ago. WOW, figuring out how long it has been, this makes me feel old. But at the concert it was like I was sixteen again, thanks to the concert tickets from RazorGator!!
Fiddler’s Green Amphitheatre: Concerts Under the Stars Venue
Fiddler’s Green Amphitheatre: Google Maps
6350 Greenwood Plaza Blvd
Greenwood Village, CO 80111
Fiddler’s Green Amphitheatre is an outdoor concert experience that is nestled between Greenwood Plaza and the Tech center with a view of the mountains. There is a large lawn area where general admission ticket holders can dance around in the grass as they jam to their favorite bands. The capacity is 17, 916 and there are 7,500 seats. It opened in 1988 and it was a place for local business people to lunch as they listened to a concert series by the Museum of Outdoor Arts. Now, concert promoters MCA Concerts, House of Blues and Live Nation bring spectacular bands like Def Leppard, Poison and Cheap Trick!
Since this is an outdoor venue, the weather may not be nice so be prepared. It rained the whole time that Poison was performing. You can take umbrellas in, but they can only be small in size. We were able to take in a bag that held our blankets that we laid out on the lawn. There is security that will check your bags before entering the venue. If you take water with you, they will take the caps off of them, but allow you to take the bottles in.
Directions to Fiddler’s Green Amphitheatre
Fiddler’s Green Amphitheatre is nestled in the Denver Tech Center. From Northwest Denver, I took Sheridan Boulevard South to 6th Avenue East to I-25 South, exit on Arapahoe then turn right then on Yosemite you turn right until you get to Fiddler’s Green Circle and turn left and you’ll see event parking.
From the Denver International Airport, you would take I-70 going West to I-25 South, exit on Arapahoe then turn right then on Yosemite you turn right until you get to Fiddler’s Green Circle and turn left and there’s plenty of event parking. From downtown Denver, the directions are the same as previously stated, you can access I-25 from Speer Boulevard going North, Colfax Avenue going West, or 20th Avenue going West.
Parking, Hotels, and Restaurants near Fiddler’s Green Amphitheatre
Parking is not cheap, which ranged from $15 to $20. Since Fiddler’s Green Amphitheatre is nestled in the business district of the Tech center, there weren’t any free parking spaces anywhere close to the amphitheatre. Parking in the business parking lots, I would not suggest, because you could get towed. During events, businesses are more prone to tow cars parked in their lots for events.

There are many fast food places right by Fiddler’s Green Amphitheatre. Concessions are available in the concert arena, but kind of expensive. Fast food places to choose from are Papa Johns, McDonalds, Taco Bell, Good Times, and Subway. There are sit down restaurants near the amphitheatre, Sushi Moon and CB & Potts. I have not been to either of these restaurants so I can not inform you if they are worth spending money at.
Maggianos is nearby at 7401 South Clinton Street, Englewood, CO. I would highly recommend this restaurant, because the food is fantastic. My favorite dishes are the chopped salad, tomato caprese appetizer, Joey Z angel hair pasta, fettuccine alfredo, the beef medallions, and chicken saltimbocca. Seafood is not my favorite, so I don’t eat the calamari fritte or the mussel appetizers or the seafood pasta dishes, but my husband and friends have had these scrumptious dishes.
Park Meadows Mall is close by off exit County Line Road on I-25. There are many more restaurants near the mall: California Pizza Kitchen, The Cheesecake Factory, P.F. Rock, Rock Til We Drop with Def Leppard!
The Def Leppard, Poison, and Cheap Trick concert was so much FUN!! Three bands in one night was a bargain and the only complaint that I have is I wish it went longer than 10:30. Fiddler’s Green Amphitheatre has a strict policy that concerts are finished by 10:30 or the band is fined. Regardless of the time restriction, each band gave it their all and played the oldies, but goodies.
Cheap Trick warmed us up with their hits I Want You To Want Me and Surrender. I was never a Cheap Trick fan, but I did like these songs. They sounded phenomenal. Poison played their hit songs Unskinny Bop, Nothin’ But a Good Time, and Every Rose Has Its Thorn. I have always liked Brett Michaels and saw some of his Rock of Love shows on VH1. He gave props to all the military men and women fighting in Iraq. There was a military guy there on stage with Poison filming the concert. C.C. DeVille is an incredible guitar player. The energy from Poison really put the crowd in the mood for more 80s rock and everyone was eager for Def Leppard to come on stage.
Def Leppard had this cool picture screen behind them that scrolled interesting images for each song. Joe Elliot belted out Rock Rock Til You Drop as the opening song and ended with the concert with one encore singing Let’s Get Rocked. Def Leppard played other popular songs, Photograph, Animal, Pour Some Sugar on Me, Two Steps Behind, Love Bites and more. Only one song was sung from their latest album Songs From the Sparkle Lounge, Nine Lives, and the crowd went silent during this song. It was clear many in the audience were not familiar with the songs on Def Leppard’s latest album.
Seeing Def Leppard, Poison and Cheap Trick, this was an extraordinary night and we had a blast rockin to the 80s!! Thank you EventChaser for the Def Leppard tickets!!
