Today, there have been reports everywhere hinting to Quarterback Brett Favre signing a brand new $12 million dollar contract with the Minnesota Vikings. This contract is expected to last only 12 months. As we all remember, Favre went into retirement last year and broke many hearts with this announcement. Many NFL fans are shocked by this new revelation of him signing with the Vikings, since this is the second season Brett Favre might come out of retirement.
Brett has not yet reported to Vikings training camp or any other training camp this season; however it would expect for him to begin practicing with the team, if contracts are completed. There have even been rumors that he will be playing at the Friday night game against the Kansas City Chiefs.
His career has been filled with success, wins and a large serving of NFL passing records. Making him one of the most well known and beloved NFL quarterbacks of all time. Brett Favre is most famous for his dedication to the Green Bay Packers and hardcore cheeseheads were devastated when he announced his retirement.
Many industry professionals are thrilled by the possible return of this legend. However, some are less enthusiastic. Just last year this quarterback was traded to the Jets by Green Bay. Brett Favre ran into a few complications last season while playing for the New York Jets. Expectations were high for his 2008 return, but he ended up with some serious injuries and a rather dark outlook on the rest of his career. Brett was forced to undergo major surgery on his shoulder in the spring.
It is unclear what this season will hold for the super-star quarterback as of this moment. All the details of the deal have been hush, hush. Even Brett’s agent refuses to confirm anything, stating “No deal is in place yet”, but we can’t ignore the rumors!
Favre is one of the oldest and most respected players in the NFL, with his 40th birthday just around the corner. Is this just a publicity stunt for the aged champion? Or are we about experience an amazing comeback? Only time will tell…

My husband is so excited the Vikings have Brett Farve. Unlike my husband, I am not a Vikings fan. I think Brett Farve should have stuck to his retirement and become a sports commentator. We will see how the season goes!
