My mother and I went to Vegas last week and scored Cirque du Soleil Ka tickets from Razorgator. I can’t compare this production to any other form of theater as Cirques are in their own class. Ka is a story told in an outrageous selection of acrobats dancing in the air, upside down, flying, light and color illusions, puppets, even huge turtles!
The experience starts at the door where you are greeted by staff already in character. When I took my seat my mouth was already hanging open, the whole theater is the set and it was unbelievably cool. The stage was blasting fire before the show even began and as an added touch each seat had its own set of surround sound speakers built-in.
The title Ka is inspired by the ancient Egyptian concept of the “ka,” an invisible spiritual duplicate of the body that accompanies every human being through this life and into the next. In this show, the Imperial Twins and their accompanying ka go on an epic journey, surviving ocean storms, meeting fantastic creatures and conquering evil opponents, and are finally reunited.
The entire production had impeccable attention to detail, design and audience enjoyment. It loosely could be considered a play (it had a storyline) but coupled with the performances of talented acrobats and trapeze artists there were no dull moments.
Ka is one of the most innovative stage productions I have ever seen and finding words to describe it are difficult, the show could not be duplicated anywhere else as the stage is really no stage at all. The entire 1000+ seat theatre transformed and integrated itself to serve the story of the Imperial Twins, separated by war. Sometimes it was a warship, warrior hut, a rotating beach, or a Matrix-style horizontal wall that actors did battle upon.
Cirque Du Soleil Ka Conclusion!
There is nothing like it, there are no bad seats in the theatre and it’s worth every penny. A special treat my mother and I will remember for years to come.

The MGM Grand has unlimited restaurants inside of its hotel. We had a wonderful experience dining early at Shibuya. It wasn’t crowded we had ample attention from the staff and enjoyed edamame, tempura veggies and fine tea.
Other Cirque Du Soleil Shows
There are 6 completely different shows just in Vegas in including Mystere, “O”, Zumanity, Ka, Love and Believe. I haven’t heard a single bad thing about any of them (our cabbie highly recommended “O” which is also the most expensive I think).
Vegas After Parties
Comon, you’re in Vegas. You better at least hit up the craps table. It’s really not as intimidating as you may think, and is the most social experience you’ll find in a casino. Learn how to play. Many thanks to Razorgator and EventChaser, this was truly an amazing experience!
