I’ve got some great info for you all on Texas Motor Speedway which can be found in the northern part of Fort Worth, Texas.

The 1 ½ mile quad-oval track was opened in 1996. TMS offers drivers wide turns and straightaways that give plenty of room for passing. If you have been to either Lowe’s Motor Speedway or Atlanta Motor Speedway, you’ll notice the similarities of the track shapes.

Directions to Texas Motor Speedway
I urge anyone traveling to the track from Dallas, Texas to avoid Highway 114 West. Visit the Texas Motor Speedway Directions page for alternative routes. For traffic on race weekend, tune into local station 105.3.
Parking at Texas Motor Speedway
One bit of good news for you drivers; general parking at Texas Motor Speedway is always free! If you prefer VIP or Express parking, they are available for a charge. You can visit the parking page for paid parking options.
The Campgrounds at Texas Motor Speedway
If you don’t want to deal with hotels, or you really just want to party as much as possible all weekend long with your fellow NASCAR lovers, camping may be the best choice for you. Make your choices early to ensure you have a spot reserved. This is especially important considering that during race weekends; Texas Motor Speedway becomes Texas 12th largest city! There are a number of camping options which can be seen at the Camping/Motorhome parking page.
Texas Motor Speedway Seating
Where to sit; this is probably the most important part of any race weekend. With any event, you want to get the best bang for your buck. So here is a break down of the seating situation.
On the front stretch across from the pits are the PSL seats, PU 101-128 and PU 401-428, which include rows 29-66. From here, you will have a fantastic view of the whole track. These seats are theater-style seats with back and arm rests. These will cost a little bit more than the lower rows, but the overall comfort is worth it.
Next we have the lower rows of the above mentioned area. These would be rows 1-28. Here you will be seated in regular grandstand bleachers where things can get a little cramped. I would say spend the extra money and get a cozy seat up top, but if you want to sit here, try to get row 10 or higher.
In sections 129–149 and 429-448 you will find all bleacher seats. Rows 29-66 will give you a nicer view of the track, but you will be looking across pit road instead of at it. So for this area, it’s all a choice of preference. The price difference between these and the PSL seats isn’t much.
If you want nothing more than to just be there at the race, then the Backstretch Section will be all you need. This is comprised of sections 201-230 and 301-330. These will be the cheapest seats you can get.
Concessions at TMS
Now is probably a good time to let you know that Texas Motor Speedway is located in a “dry county”. This means that alcohol is NOT sold on site. However, you are allowed to bring in a 14”x14” cooler packed full with the beer of your choice. There is a store located on site where you can purchase food supplies. You are free to bring your own food and drinks as long as they are not in glass containers.
What’s For Dinner?
So, you’re not camping out and you want something better than a concession stand hot dog at the end of the night… what do you do? Where do you go? Read on my friend, I have the skinny on tasty food in the Fort Worth area.
Babe’s Chicken Dinner House | 104 N Oak St Roanoke, TX 76262 | (817)491-2900
Babe’s is located about 4 ½ miles from the track and is a great little place for home cooked food! The portions are large and people pile in here to eat. Sometimes there is a line extending outside. No alcohol is sold but you are welcome to BYOB.
Flying Saucer | 111 E 4th Street Fort Worth, Texas 76102 | (817)332-5662
Located about 20 mins from TMS is this wonderful 3 story bar filled with happy patrons, over 100 beers on tap and good food. The crowed is usually a bit older than the “college crowd”, so if that’s what you are looking for, you might want to try somewhere else.
