Do you know what time it is…? It’s March Madness time! This is always an exciting time of the year for college sports enthusiasts. Some of the best college ball will be seen throughout the month. The NCAA East Coast Regional in Boston, Massachusetts will be held at the former Fleet Center, TD Banknorth Garden. Games will take place on Thursday March 26, 2009 and Saturday March 28, 2009. Sounds like a perfect time for a little vacation and I’m happy to assist you with some information on what will hopefully make your trip smoother.

This 755,000-square-foot arena has been open since 1995 and in its time has had over twenty-four million visitors. Plenty of big names take the floor at the Garden including the Boston Bruins and Boston Celtics. Of course, other events are held here as well, such as concerts, ice shows and wrestling. The 19,600-seat arena is well equipped with suites, club seats and three private restaurants.
Directions to TD Banknorth Garden
The arena is located in Boston’s Downtown area so as you can imagine there will be some traffic as with any city’s downtown. Dining at TD Banknorth Garden
Choices, choices, choices! That is what you will have here. If you can’t find at least one item to satisfy your hunger here then I don’t know what to tell you. You will find both casual and upscale dining. Premium Level ticketholders are able to enjoy a few private restaurants on levels 5 and 6.
The Garden has a number of food and drink concessions for you. From The Frank House and The Seaside Shack to the High Deli there will be something for everyone. Please visit the TD Banknorth Garden Dining page for a complete list of restaurants.
For those of us of age, nothing completes a good game like a tasty cocktail or beer. Within the arena you will find 2 bars. The Hub, which is located on Level 4, is open to all patrons. Not only will you quench your thirst here but you will get a beautiful panoramic view of Boston. Next, there is The Dewar’s 12 Lounge. This lounge is located on level 5 which is part of the Premium Club. Club seat ticket holders have access to this area.

Once the games are over, if you’re still hanging around town why not make the most of it? Here is a list of a few things to do while in Boston.
John F. Kennedy Library & Museum – Here is a great chance to learn new things you never knew about JFK and his family. Allow a few hours for this self-guided tour and enjoy a meal at their cafe.
Boston Symphony Orchestra – The BSO offers discounted tickets to patrons under 40 years old. Discounted tickets are $20. Arrive a little early and enjoy drinks or coffee in the lounge. Even those not familiar with classical music can come to the BSO and be truly blown away.
